Mark Rose
Mark Rose is traditionally linked to the Gunditjmara Nation of western Victoria where his father was removed from Framlingham at the age of six. Mark has spent most of his life in education and at some time has taught every level from prep to PhD. As the former principal of Koorie Open Door Education (KODE) Mark has been an active member of VAEAI (Victorian Aboriginal Education Association Inc) and is currently working on five Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leadership programs across the nation. He is on the board of Indigenous Enterprise Partnerships in Cairns, Chair of First Australians Business in Brisbane, a member of the Victorian Government task force on Stolen Generations and more recently co-chaired the Royal Commission into aboriginal Deaths in Custody Implementation Review Team. Mark consults regularly with Indigenous and non-Indigenous organizations both nationally and internationally.

As an academic at RMIT University’s Faculty of Business Mark teaches predominately in postgraduate programs here in Australia as well as Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia. He has Four academic degrees is currently completing including a PhD which is centred on issues of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander management education.

Mark believes that leadership through good management, sound business practise and the entrepreneurial spirit are important elements in the quest for personal and community self-determination
