Best practice organizations build on the strength of their diverse cultures. Yesterday’ s organizations tolerated it. Tomorrow’ s organizations celebrate it. Taruni’s work supports this vision. Her current projects include: authoring the intercultural training tool, Cultural Detective: New Zealand ® , part of a global series; designing and piloting an intercultural train-the-trainers programme for selected New Zealand government departments; facilitating programmes for multicultural teams- real and virtual. Founder and Director of Intercultural Dynamics, Taruni has been active internationally in the field of intercultural communication since the late seventies. New Zealand born and educated, her commitment to this field developed from a seminal period in Melbourne. This was then enriched in the late eighties and throughout the nineties in multi-cultural business and education environments in India, the Middle East, and East Africa. To bring the mind-sets and skill-sets of intercultural communication to students, Taruni also teaches at Auckland University of Technology. She is adjunct faculty at the Summer Institute for Intercultural Communication held annually in Portland, Oregon, and a member of the Society for Intercultural Education, Training And Research (SIETAR). |
