Business Success is a question of Culture. And learning how people communicate is a KEY: John Brownsea
Every business problem, every single one…is caused by one thing and one thing only…culture.
From high staff turnover, to machinery breakdowns, to no toilet paper in the
bathroom when you desperately need it…culture is the culprit.
And, we spend so little time remedying it. Countless hours are spent drawing up rosters,
improving processes, shifting accountability, praising, raising, hiring, firing, budgeting, analysing,
protesting, protecting... All designed to improve an organisation’s efficiency and, hence, profitability.
Yet, so little time is spent dealing with how the people in the organisation relate.
The key to business success is that simple – get the people working towards a
common purpose, get them working together, and it doesn’t matter what issue arises
you will find a way through it.
Yes, you can “Create” a successful culture.
But, how do you do this? The first key is quality LEADERSHIP. Quite simply,
without strong and effective leadership a business won’t succeed.
The second key is DISCIPLINE. This involves the courage and tenacity to keep doing the ‘little’ things
day in and day out required to achieve business goals. This is a ‘crunch’ concept that the vast majority of
organisations fail to achieve.
Thirdly, generate a real understanding of how people communicate and make
UNDERSTANDING OTHERS a cornerstone of your business workplace.
And, culture is more than just “cultural diversity”.
Has this ever happened to you?
You’re at work and your best friend comes in the door, with a frown on her face.
She looks your way…and looks straight through you. Your immediate thoughts are: “BOY, what’s her problem!”
“ How dare she look at me as though I was nothing…ever since she got that promotion
she’s become a a a real so & so….”
But, how do you know that’s what was going on? Osmosis? Perhaps she’d just had some bad news and
was in a complete mental fog. In truth you’re simply guessing. Simply using a set of rules
limited by your understanding of how the world works.
In this session we will share a skill set designed to improve your organisation’s ability to ‘simply get on’.
Skills designed to improve written, oral and visual communication with you,
workmates, customers, suppliers and other peers.
When you lift an organisations communication skills you create a team that ‘soars’.
